Working process

Before a drawing can be made, pictures have to be made of the horse. These photos are a great help when I start drawing. Every horse (like every human) is different. The eyes, lips, bones are placed differently. The pictures help me to remember the animal and help me create a threedimensional image in my head.

The drawings are made with Karisma-pencils (I love this material) or pastel. The black and white drawings are made with graphite or pencils in several grades of hardness. I use different kinds of paper, but always of good quality and for the pastels I use Hahnemühle coloured paper.
